Notes
The EAPC Cake Plate is two pieces: a Large Platter set on a Cake Stand. Anchor Hocking packaged them together. The platter should be placed onto the flat top of the cake stand such that their hexagons line up to provide the best stability. You can add a little removable Museum Gel to increase stability.
A few EAPC Cake Plates have been found by collectors with the stand permanently attached. This was likely done after market with a little glass glue. I prefer to keep my Cake Plate in two pieces for several reasons:
- Alone, the Cake Stand is more versatile. See Cake Stand for more details.
- Alone, the Large Platter is more versatile. See Large Platter for more usage ideas.
- It’s easier to store the two pieces separately, then if they’re glued together.
