Notes:

This Early American Prescut Salad Bowl by Crown Crystal Glass Company in Australia is a copy of Anchor Hocking’s Early American Prescut Large Serving Bowl. Crown released it as part of its Crystacut line. It was frequently advertised together with Crown’s EAPC “Crystacut” Platter, a copy of Anchor Hocking’s Large Platter.

Crown also designed an EAPC 7-Part Divided Platter in Crystal and Rose-Lilac. The Rose-Lilac Crown Platter and Rose-Lilac 7-Part Divided Platter have repeatedly been reported by well-known vintage glass authors as made by Anchor Hocking, exclusively for Coles stores in Australia. This is not the case.

Proof that Crown Crystal Glass Company made these pieces, including how to distinguish them from Anchor Hocking equivalents, Crown Catalog photos, and vintage Australian advertisements, are detailed in Chapter 8 of Early American Prescut Glass: A comprehensive guide to Anchor Hocking’s iconic star pattern by Tina Spain McDuffie.

I don’t think anyone realized there were two Crystal EAPC Large Serving Bowls until Nancy Hobbs and I discovered that Crown made the Rose-Lilac Platters, not Anchor Hocking. Then we realized Crown also made an EAPC Salad Bowl.

Like its Anchor Hocking Large Serving Bowl counterpart, this Crown EAPC Salad Bowl is perfect for serving a salad, chips, popcorn, hot rolls, and a variety of other foods and snacks.
